HOSPITAL FINDER
When you need to find a hospital quickly you tap 'Hospital' on the nav bar on your Home page. The app will locate the nearest hospitals in your vicinity, ordering them nearest first. You can also refine the results by Driving Distance. You can call the ER before you go by tapping the 'Phone' button. Plus you can get driving directions by tapping the 'Directions' button.
PHARMACY FINDER
When you need to find a pharmacy ASAP to tap 'Pharmacy' on the nav bar on your Home page. The app will locate the nearest pharmacies in your vicinity, organizing them nearest first. You can also refine the results by Driving Distance. You can call the Pharmacy before you go by tapping the 'Phone' button. Plus you can get driving directions by tapping the 'Directions' button.
FOOD SCAN
When you grocery shop you can scan barcodes on food products to check if they contain your allergens. This features helps you quickly rule out foods that contain your allergens. The scan cross checks for uncommon names so your allergens can't 'hide' on ingredients lists. If a scan doesn't find any match, you still need to read the label to triple check. Factor Precautionary Allergen Labeling into your 'buy' or 'don't buy') decision. Technology is an assist, not a replacement, for your judgement.
FOOD SEARCH
You can search for a specific food product with the app's food search feature. You input the food you'd like to find in the search bar and the app will return possibilities for your allergy profile. Searching can be iterative, so be sure your search string is specific (e.g., 'chocolate chip cookies' versus 'cookies'). This feature is just another way the Allergy Force app simplifies your food allergic life!
HIDDEN ALLERGEN LIST
There are hundreds of uncommon names for the the top allergens to keep track of and factor into your ingredients list reading. They are easy to miss because they hide, buried in the mice type and fine print of the list. When you use the Food Scan and Food Search features, the app cross checks the Allergy Force Hidden Allergen Lists to make sure unsafe foods don't find their way into your shopping cart.
RECIPE SEARCH
Maybe food allergies have made you into the cook you never aspired to be. Or maybe food allergies have inspired you to greater culinary heights than ever before. Whatever your situation, with the Recipe Search feature it's easy to find recipes that will make it easier to stay safe while you get creative in the kitchen. With just a couple taps on your phone, find, save & share recipes that work for your allergy profile.
FOOD PREP GUIDE
With food allergies you sometimes need to tell others how to prepare food that's safe for you or your loved one to eat. You find yourself explaining everything again and again (& again!) to family, friends, caretakers—anyone who will prepare food for you. This guide takes the work out of the explanation, guiding people step by step through preparing safe food for you. Share it by email or print it out to bring with you!
